My review of the Deeper fish finder

I was looking for a dependable fish finder that does the trick in most situations, so I started browsing the market for the options I had available. Soon enough, I came to the conclusion that I didn’t have to bother with getting a unit that didn’t have a wide enough screen so I could see the fish and the bottom of the water I was fishing in. While most black and white alternatives were reasonably priced, I was looking for a more convenient alternative that could allow me to take advantage of the iPhone 6 I already own.

I came across the Deeper fish finder once I started browsing through some customer reviews. Of course, the opinion of other fishermen had a great role to play in my final decision, by the main detail that I took into account was the fact that the transducer of this model was able to connect wirelessly to my mobile device. I ordered the product from Amazon because my wife has Amazon Prime and I don’t see why I couldn’t take advantage of all the benefits offered by the program. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the items inside were carefully packaged so nothing was ruined during transportation. At that time, I had no way of knowing if the transducer was able to do what it was supposed to without taking it out on a fishing expedition. I made sure to connect it to my iPhone in spite of the fact that the unit didn’t have any data to speak of to show on my screen.

In all honesty, I have nothing but good things to say about the way it performs and about the data it transmits. For one, I’m impressed with the accuracy of this model but I’m not overwhelmed by its precision given that it is relying on the screen of my mobile phone. Therefore, if you have a fully capable smartphone such as the latest generation iPhone, my recommendation would be to avoid settling for the classic type of fish finder and get one of which the transducer can use Bluetooth to link to the mobile device.

borneo3Another thing that I liked about the Deeper was the fact that it came with a complimentary app that I was able to download from the App Store free of charge. Some of the application features I liked the most were the fishing calendar and log, the map info, as well as the social media integration. Thanks to my cellular plan, I was even able to share my fishing log with friends on Facebook. I knew my wife would be reassured I was always safe if I did this. From what I gathered by reading the info in the book offered by the manufacturer, I could even be able to use the Deeper for ice fishing, although I hardly have any experience in this field. All in all, I am satisfied with what I got for the money, mainly because the Deeper is a versatile, easy to use, and reliable fish finder that’s worth every penny.
